The Capital Music Club (CMC) collection consists of records and scrapbooks. There are annual yearbooks (pamphlets) for CMC during the years 1944 through about 1989. Many yearbooks list officers, committees, meetings, dues, annual projects, past presidents, past state presidents and members. There are 24 scrapbooks that cover from 1939 through 1985 with newspaper clippings, programs, and a few photographs sprinkled throughout. There are a couple scrapbooks for the Clef and Staff club, a junior organization in Olympia, WA. The collection includes the club constitution, reports, minutes for 1939 through about 1960 and some membership lists. There are 2 ledgers of finances for CMC from 1939 through about 1980. The two scrapbooks for the Lyrics Singers of Olympia are unique to this collection. They were a women's choral group founded in 1947 and sponsored by the Capital Music Club. Mrs. Marguerite Agnew was the founder and director of the Lyrics Singers of Olympia and she donated the scrapbooks and much of the material to this collection.

Maud P. Mitchell was born about 1883 in Oregon. She married Chas. R. Mitchell and by 1920 they were living in Chehalis, WA. Charles was an assistant cashier at the bank. Charles had become a banker by 1930. Between 1957 & 1958 Charles passed away. And Maud passed away on 29 May 1960 in Chehalis, WA.
